Hawthorne Gardens is our latest development of new homes in the South West of England, located in the village of Ilton close to Ilminster and Taunton in Somerset. It consists of 47 stylish two, three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses, all finished to a high standard and specification.
Each new house is fitted with solar panels which allow you to generate electricity from sunlight even on cloudy days – cutting your energy bills as well as helping to tackle global warning.
Ilton is a traditional English rural community with a village green and local amenities which include a pre-school and primary school, cricket pitch, public house and village hall. The church of St Peter dates from the 14th century and has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building.
Ilton lies equal distances between the north Somerset and south Devon coasts and is within a few miles of no fewer than three locations officially designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The area immediately surrounding the village itself has an attractive network of country lanes and footpaths providing excellent walking and cycling opportunities.
The A303 junction at Ilminster lies just two miles away, making Hawthorne Gardens a very accessible location. The market town of Ilminster is only three miles away and provides a good range of day-to-day amenities, a supermarket and a secondary school which is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Taunton, Somerset’s county town, is about nine miles away – as is the nearest junction onto the M5 motorway to the Midlands or (via the M4) to London. Taunton provides a comprehensive range of recreational and shopping facilities, as well as a main line railway station with regular trains to London Paddington.
Yeovil and Crewkerne, with its Waitrose supermarket, lie within a similar distance and have main line railway stations with services to London Waterloo.
The new homes at Hawthorne Gardens are built using sustainable timber frames which help to make them more energy-efficient than average houses. You can save more than £600 per year on your energy bills compared with a similar ’second hand’ home*.This is part of our commitment to the environment which also includes minimising waste, reducing the use of materials and protecting wildlife during house-building. Every house at Hawthorne Gardens is covered by a ten-year insurance-backed guarantee. The government-backed Help to Buy scheme is available on many properties.
