Churchinford Hills is our development of new homes in the small picturesque village of Churchinford. It is located just nine miles south of Taunton in the Blackdown Hills, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty by Natural England.
We are offering a range of three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses designed to fit in with this idyllic rural setting.
Churchinford Hills won Best New Housing Development in the Somerset Building Excellence Awards and was a finalist in the Local Authority Building Control South West Building Excellence Awards.
These new homes picked up awards because we were able to demonstrate building excellence using traditional methods of construction while adhering to strict conservation guidelines. Loose-lay flint stone, hand-laid thatch, natural slate and a variety of renders are all used in the development. They are built into houses that combine modern construction methods and stylish interior design.
The Blackdown Hills surrounding Churchinford are an unspoilt rural landscape with an extraordinary variety of flora and fauna to discover, including a population of fallow deer. The hills offer excellent cycling, walking and riding and there is plenty of history to interest visitors, from the Iron Age to World War Two.
Churchinford itself is a quiet village with leafy lanes that has its roots firmly planted in farming practices and traditions which date back centuries. It has a mix of architecture from across the years, a legacy which is perfectly illustrated by The York Inn which dates back, in some parts, to the 16th century.
There is a village shop that stocks the essentials and a farmers’ market held monthly. If it's the usual high street names you require, nearby Taunton provides the area's most complete shopping experience and is also home to a large range of independent shops, many of them long-established.
If you want to go further afield, Churchinford Hills is only a 20-minute drive to the M5 motorway, providing access to the north and south. Exeter, Devon's capital, is just 45 minutes away and Seaton on the south coast is only 20 miles away, offering a stunning coastline to explore.
The nearest train station is in Taunton with regular services to destinations all over the country; a journey to London, for example, takes around two hours.
